We are a unique organization that has been serving San Diego Actors for 25 years! Without a doubt "theatre" is a truly

collaborative art form -- one that involves a variety of creative artists, all of whom are important to the final product. However, it remains true that there would be no final product without the Actors who bare their souls to tell the story. Unfortunately it is often the Actors who have the smallest voice and feel the least "empowered". That is why it has been our mission to serve, educate and promote the individual theatre artist.

The Actors Alliance of San Diego is organized for the advancement, education, and exposure of the San Diego theatre artist and to enhance the good of the community through the medium of theatre.

Company Overview

The Actors Alliance of San Diego (AASD) is a membership based service organization dedicated to the advancement, exposure and education of the San Diego theatre artist and enhancing the good of the community through the medium of theatre. Members of our organization include actors, directors, producers, designers, playwrights, musicians, choreographers, stage managers, technicians, dramaturges, teachers, and arts supporters. We provide benefits, programs and services to aide our members in their quest to become professional artists in the San Diego theatre. Educating and promoting our artists directly affects the quality of theatre being produced by San Diego companies, which further increases revenue for both actors and theatre companies and helps San Diego to be seen for the vibrant, inspiring and ground-breaking arts community it is. In a recent survey San Diego was listed as the 5th largest theatre community in America, with two local theatres (The Old Globe and La Jolla Playhouse) sending shows to Broadway.
